PARTNERSHIP TO CREATE “EVERYTHING CAMPING” ONLINE GEAR SHOP
ORANGE, Calif. – Leisure Holding has partnered with a leading online retailer, Pets United, to build a camping gear store at Camping.com. The joint venture will create an online destination where consumers can find everything camping – from campground reservations to a fully stocked camping gear store – all in one easy-to-use location. The Camping.com gear store will have a wide assortment of merchandise to satisfy all camping styles and varying adventure/activity types. “This partnership allows us to accelerate our expansion into gear sales, which in turn will help us build stronger relationships with our consumers and continue building on the ‘everything camping’ concept,” said Gary Pace, Leisure Holding president and CEO. “Gear is an integral part of the camping experience and having a complete merchandise assortment on Camping.com is a natural extension for the brand. Camping.com set out to be the one-stop shop for campers to find information, plan trips, buy gear and even share their experiences. This move will satisfy yet another aspect of camping that consumers need.”
The partnership will leverage each company’s strengths, coupling Leisure Holding’s knowledge of the camping and RVing industry with Pets United’s understanding of product assortment and fulfillment. Leisure Holding will continue to operate Camping.com’s content and editorial, as well as the Friend online reservation system. “As the largest direct-to-consumer equine company we have already had tremendous success in outdoor and camping gear, and therefore this expansion into a full-scale camping store is a logical progression for our business,” said Alex Tabibi, Pets United CEO. “With our e-commerce experience combined with Leisure Holding’s deep relationships with campgrounds, the camping industry and camping consumers, it just made sense for us to join forces to make Camping.com a one-stop resource for campers, RVers, road trippers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts.”
The gear store will appeal to campers of all levels, from luxury RVers to the more rugged adventure-seeking types. “The addition of a Camping.com gear store will expand the consumer reach, appealing to a broad range of family, tent and adventure campers. It will give campers another reason to visit us between trips, increasing site traffic and enhancing their camping experience even when they are just camped out on the couch,” Pace added.
